Mack McGhee is one of Toastmasters' treasures. Since joining Homewood-Flossmoor Club 1451 in January 2006, he has inspired us with his speaking skills and with his ability to captivate listeners. He is energetic and passionate in his pursuit to be a better speaker. This is underscored by his progress. After only a few months, he wowed the Area and Division by winning first place in those competitions. The second time I heard Mac speak publicly was at his mom's funeral. I was moved. What can you say about a funeral? It's sad. The "best" funerals (if there are any) are the ones that you leave feeling two thing: a sense of fellowship and a sense of hope. Mack's presentation/dedication to his mom filled me with a sense of hope and reminded me how lucky I am to have met his mom. That day, I said, "wow, what a gift". Not sure where Mack will go with public speaking, but God willing, I hope its all the way to the top.
I was privileged to hear Mack McGhee speak in Sacramento, California at The From the Ground Up New Speaker's Training. I was blessed by Mack's overall presentation. Mack's presence commanded the audience's attention, his charismatic and compassionate traits along with his ability to identify with his audience was captivating. Mack displayed a level of confidence, professionalism and humor like never before. I am ready to hear him speak again. When and Where will Mack McGhee be speaking next?
The story that Mac told was compelling and inspiring. It resenated with me in terms of facing life's challenges. How he was able to perservere in spite the fact his mother was terminally ill. She encouraged Mac to follow his dreams. She believed in him and his will to be a speaker. Mac's powerful words of encourage spoke conviction that we all have to deal with lifes uncertainties and challenges. Mac do what you do! Speak on! Peace...
